You can plunder the devil’s kingdom, and set souls free!

Acts 10: 38 (GW)

You know that God anointed Jesus from Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Jesus went everywhere and did good things, such as healing everyone who was under the devil’s power. Jesus did these things because God was with him.

Our Bible verse for today tells us that Jesus was able to plunder the devil’s kingdom and heal the sick and the oppressed because God was with Him! That’s the key! Is God with you?

Whenever the devil became revolting or attacked during Jesus’s earthly ministry, Jesus went out to plunder his kingdom. For instance, in Matthew 14:1–28, when Jesus heard that John the Baptist had been beheaded by King Herod, he withdrew to be alone. He then healed the sick, fed five thousand men, walked on water, and healed more people!

In like manner, in Acts 5:40–42, the early apostles were flogged on the orders of the Jewish Council for preaching the gospel, after which they were told never again to speak in the name of Jesus. However, the apostles left the council meeting rejoicing that God had counted them worthy to suffer disgrace for the name of Jesus. Afterwards, they continued to teach and preach this message, “Jesus is the Messiah,” every day in the temple and from house to house.

In the same way, whenever the devil goes on the offensive against you or attacks you or shows any sign of disobedience to you, go and plunder his kingdom:

  • Preach the gospel,
  • Lead people to Christ,
  • Heal the sick,
  • Feed the hungry,
  • Pray all night.
  • Do the work of the ministry.

If God is with you, then you can do these and more. The key to Jesus’s ministry was the presence of God! I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father (John 14: 12, NIV).

Thank You glorious FATHER because of Your presence with me! Help me to aspire to do all that Jesus di and even more. In Jesus’ Name I pray. AMEN.
