I kid thee not – The devil is a bad devil!

Crushing the devil, resist the devil, resisting the devil, the devil is always looking for an opportune time, the devil is a bad devil

John 10:10 (NIV)The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

The thief in our passage is the devil. He is the enemy of our souls. The devil has a three-fold ministry: He steals, kills and destroys. That his calling, that’s his focus, and everything he does can be categorised into one of these three activities! He is a bad devil!

He is a thief. He steals

  • Joy
  • Peace
  • Health
  • Ideas
  • Confidence
  • The seed of the Word of God

He is a devourer. He destroys:

  • Marriages
  • Finances
  • Families
  • Relationships with God
  • Communities
  • Economies

He is a murderer. He kills:

  • Visions
  • Careers
  • People
  • Lives
  • Self-esteem

However, unlike the devil, Jesus is a life-giver. He came so that we can have, and enjoy life! Jesus came to give:

  • Life in all its fullness
  • Life in abundance
  • Life to the full, until it overflows

In Jesus, we can have a restoration of everything the devil, the bad devil has stolen. In Him, we can have a repair of everything the devil has destroyed, and a resurrection of everything the devil has killed. This can only happen as we resist the devil in the name of Jesus. However, we cannot resist the devil unless and until we have first submitted ourselves to the Lord. The Bible tells us in James 4:7, “Therefore, submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will run away from you” (ISV). We must first be totally yielded to God – Jesus must be Lord and Saviour, and we must be living in complete obedience to Him; only then can we resist the devil and expect to see results.

There is more to life than just going through the motions: waking up, going to school or work, returning home and going to bed at night. Jesus Has come so that our lives can have a meaning and a purpose.

I thank You Father for Your Word for me today. I yield myself to You. I now stand on the authority of Your Word, and I decree a restoration of everything the devil has stolen from me; a repair of everything the devil has destroyed in my life and around me; and a resurrection of everything the devil has killed around me. Help me to experience the reality of abundant life in Jesus. I pray in Jesus’ Name. AMEN.

    1. He is literally out to destroy me but Jesus has already defeated him so he can’t do anything to me unless I let him and im NOT.
